Toddler Easter Basket Inspo

Toddler Easter Basket Inspo

Just when you thought you made it through all the Valentine’s Day candy and toys, Easter rolls in! Easter is one of the biggest candy days you will run into as a toddler mom. While there is generally nothing wrong with letting your little one indulge in some sweet treats every now and then, it can get a little overwhelming to have so much candy around that your toddler is well aware of.

Instead, it is always a great idea to give the toddler in your life something more practical as an Easter gift. Whether it is your own child, your niece or nephew, or your bestie’s kiddos, Easter can be fun and functional at the same time! Some of our favorite ideas include sensory fidget toys and mess-free bubbles.

Sensory Fidget Toys

Our product testers couldn’t put them down!

Our Spike Balls are also a great gift to toss into your toddler’s Easter basket. Made in an adorable pineapple-like shape and three stimulating colors, kids (and adults!) of all ages won’t be able to put them down. Easy to fit in the palm of your hand, these balls have tons of textures and ways to enjoy them. Squish, pop, float, toss, or pull—these balls will help keep focus and fulfill sensory needs.

Easter Activity Ideas

Easter can be an overwhelming day for toddlers, especially after the fun of an Easter egg hunt. If your kiddo is on spring break during this time, you can get them excited for the holiday right at home with some simple Easter activities. Some of our favorites include egg painting, an Easter sensory bin, and making something for the Easter bunny.

Egg Painting

What is more fun than coloring eggs on or before Easter? While there are tons of fun egg coloring kits available to help you, your toddler might still be a little small for the cups of water, dipping, and madness of food coloring. The solution? Paint them instead!

All you have to do is make sure your eggs are boiled, set them up in an egg carton, and let your toddler go to town! Fun tip: Use our SPIKE Pencil Topper and Gripper as a paintbrush for extra sensory fun.

Want to attempt coloring eggs the traditional way? If you have food coloring at home, all you need to do is Mix 1/2 cup boiling water, 1 teaspoon vinegar, and 10 to 20 drops of food color in a cup to achieve desired colors. Repeat for each color. Dip hard-cooked eggs in dye for about 5 minutes. Use a slotted spoon, wire egg holder, or tongs to add and remove eggs from the dye. (source: McCormick)

Easter Sensory Bin

Grab some empty Easter eggs, open them up, put them in a box, and fill up the box with other sensory items to create a super fun Easter sensory bin for your kiddo! They are going to love filling up the Easter eggs with all the stuff in the sensory bin, and spend a lot of time doing it!

Easter Bunny Gifts

Is your toddler super excited about the Easter bunny coming by? Have them create something to leave out for the Easter bunny! Some cute ideas include:

Easter Bunny Gifts

  • Treat Spread. The way to the Easter bunny’s heart may very well be through its stomach, and what does a bunny love more than carrots? Work with your toddler to leave out a delicious spread for the Easter bunny the night before Easter.
  • Carrot cake pops. Create some simple carrot cake pops with your kiddo the day before Easter for not only the Easter bunny to enjoy—but you as well! Here’s a great recipe from Betty Crocker.
